Driving from Indianapolis to Illinois, Chicago Today

My husband and I decided to drive all the way here in Chicago for weekend fun. As while we are staying in Indianapolis we try to go to other State and see the tourist attraction. Today, we left Indianapolis about 1:30pm and we arrived here in Chicago about 4:45pm. While we are almost in Chicago there was a storm but it last just about 15 minutes. I am glad while my husband and I heading here in Chicago, we did not really experienced bad traffic. I have never been in Chicago before and I get excited when we were almost arrived. The Bench Bridge Sculpture

Went to Watch the Indy 500 as the Significant Racing Car in the World

My husband and I went to watch the Indy 500 on Sunday as one of the significant racing in the world. We did arrive in the motor speedway about 9:30 and that is early even though the racing will start at about 1:11. As we are early we did roam around the motor speedway. Almost about 12:00 noon we went to our seats and wait the race and it was a lot of people about 400,000. I am glad we did seat about 3 rows nearby the fence and we can see very well by the time people changing their tire or by the pit stop (is where a racing vehicle stops in the pits during a race for refuelling, new tires, repairs, mechanical adjustments). I have never been seeing live race car before and I was excited by the time the race started. I was amazed that alot of people went there to see the car race. I am fascinated of the car race because they are very fast and imagine the fastest they can drive is 226 mi. (363.711 km ph) and the slowest is about 135 mph (217.261 km ph) they are freaking fast and those people I can say are tough. There was a woman that I cheered for named Danica Patrick but she did not won but I am proud of her. She finished 22nd and she was clipped on pit road by Ryan Briscoe with 29 laps to go. By the time she was clipped she was on top 7 and perhaps she could win or she might be in 2nd then. I was one of her fan and she did a great job.

My husband and I did take some pictures but it’s not clear enough as you can see below, because of the barrier or the fence, even that we did take a video and take some pictures! The race took about 4 hrs. something as they did 200 laps and that is 500 miles (804.672 km). It took about 4 hrs. something I get feel tired as it was hot also and I did close my eyes in few minutes and then back to watch again (ha-ha). It was one of the most fun that I ever been to watching an event. The winner of the Indy 500 2008 is Scott Dixon who is a New Zealander. Congrats to him!

By the time the car race was done my husband and I did walk going to the bus that we ride on but duh it was alot of people fall in line and it seems takes forever to ride the bus and then we saw a restaurant and decided to eat our dinner there and watching the people fall in line and hoping that after we ate we can ride the bus but still the same alot of people in line, so, my husband and I decided to walk from there to our hotel here in Indianapolis and it is quite far when you walk from there. It took for us about 1 hour and 45 minutes walking from there. I told my husband I do not want to walk as I was thinking it is very far but I thought its not yet dark and besides it is an exercise too it can flatten my belly (lol). I was so glad by the time we arrived in the hotel and I felt exhausted that time. Anyhow, it was such a wonderful day that time and great experienced watching the race. I hope one day we will watch the car race again.

My husband and I did walk around one time here in Indianapolis and one that interests me is this statue that you can see in here. The Flower and the Bumble Bee

My husband and I decided to go back in Abe Martin Lodge that we stayed in after we roamed around and walked in the forest. 1st Time Riding a Horse

Yesterday, my husband and I went to one of the State park here in Indiana. We did roam around yesterday in the forest and we end up in the horse corral which we can ride a pony or a big horse. This morning, I was cooking a black eyed peas beans by the time it was cook I did try eating some it and after I ate it, I kept sneezing perhaps about 8-10 times and makes me annoyed, because I wanted to eat but my nose started itching and I was sneezing. Wonderful Day

On Saturday, my husband and I went to the Brown County State Park here in Indiana and we stayed their lodge which we liked. I am online in yahoo and my younger sisters suddenly buzz me and told me that my family back in Philippines they have now high speed internet connection which is great. Cute, Handsome Baby Holding a Tomato

This baby holding a tomato is my sister’s baby which is my 1st nephew and 1st grandkid of my parents. He is now 6 moths old. I have received this “wooden bowl” story from my mother in-law and she send me sometimes interesting one and I am happy receiving great stories, pictures of angels and others. I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.
A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year - old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. 'We must do something about father,' said the son. 'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was
served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless
Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.
Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

The Cinco de Mayo and Flores de Mayo

While checking my mail I end up reading this “Cinco de Mayo” which interests me and speaking of “de Mayo” it reminds me of “Flores de Mayo” (the flowers of May) when I was still in Philippines. The Worlds Biggest Wave Ever Surfed

Youtube is amazing, because you can find the video almost everything you wanted. I found this “worlds biggest wave ever surfed” which is so cool, because you can see here in the video below which the wave is pretty big and darn that guy can surf well even it is scary and for me, I might drown in that big wave but it seems somewhat fun surfing. I have not tried surfing before and perhaps I will try but I am scared as one of my chat mate friend told me that she was surfing but her head was bump into the sand and it hurts hear head and she thought her head was bleeding. Long Drive, Caught by Traffic and Detour

Yesterday, my husband and I heading here in Indianapolis from Detroit, MI and we arrived here in Indianapolis about 10:30 last night, because we caught by traffic, detour and we drove for about 5 hours and we suppose to drive for just 4 hrs. from MI to here in IN. It was really annoying that in I-75 had a detour and so that was waste of time and we end up driving nearby in downtown Toledo Ohio and we suppose to go in other way which is shortcut but dang those cones are annoying it seems mostly on the road has cones or under constructions and duh…that can cause traffic or accident. How I wish when we go back in MI next month there will be no detour or else it will be 5 hours drive again.
